Sorrel Drink (2 options)

Sorrel, also know as Flor de Jamaica, is a perennial herb with a flower calyx, which is cultivated to make a cultural beverage consumed mostly in the Caribbean during the holidays.  Growing up, I never really liked the drink because it was often prepared with an extremely bitter taste.  It wasn't until I tasted a sweet recipe made by a Trinidadian that I fell in love with the drink. 

Drinking Sorrel also has quite a bit of health benefits as it contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals.  It's high in Vitamin C, Vitamin A and has a group of compounds called Flavonoids, which is responsible for its rich red color, that performs as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory herb.
